Last week (26th Feb- 1st March) we had a wonderful week celebrating Friendship and kindness throughout the school. Being a friend is really important in AETNS! We celebrated Friendship Week with the aim of showing acts of kindness, creating a positive school climate and revisiting anti-bullying strategies. We had a full week of fun activities surrounding friendship and working together. Such activities were, scavenger hunts, art, games and quizzes. The senior classes read books about feelings, friendship and kindness to junior classes. The 5th and 6th classes acted as friendship watchers on Junior yards and put the Acts of Kindness they witnessed on our Friendship Trees. We also had a decorate your door competition. Here classes and teachers decorated their classroom doors in the theme of Friendship. The effort and designs for this were amazing and it was so lovely to see everyone working together. Our Amber Flag committee visited each class room and gave out 1st, 2nd and 3rd places to their favourite doors. Well done to Ciara’s Senior Infants, Evergreen A and Jane on being chosen. At the end of the week classes met for an assembly and shared all they had learned during the week.
