We have had a busy Term 1 in Senior Infants! We have put lot lots of effort into our cursive writing and reading during Power Hour. Gaeilge lessons have been lots of fun, full of new phrases, games and songs! We know our number stories to 8, made clocks and went on a shape hunt around the school during Maths. We made shakers for our Music lessons and played along to our favourite song ‘Three Little Birds’ by Bob Marley. We also hosted an assembly for Diwali where we performed some lovely songs and poems, and created Diwali clay candle holders – called diyas.

In November, we took part in Science Week. We learned all about Albert Einstein and had so much fun participating in daily experiments and STEM challenges. We made our own marble runs, built enclosures for our toy animals and used playdoh to make our names.

Aistear is our favourite time of the day! In December we learned all about the Post Office and had so much fun dressing up and acting as postal workers in the roleplay area. We also made post boxes at our junk art station, wrote letters in the writers area, made post office objects with playdoh and has lots of fun playing in the small world area.

To wrap up our busy term, and get us excited for our Winter Break, we made miniature gingerbread houses. We used biscuits as the walls & roof, icing as the glue and sprinkles to decorate. They look brilliant and taste delicious too!

We are so excited for what Term 2 has to offer. We hope you all have a wonderful Winter Break!
