This has been a very busy term for our 6th classers. We are getting prepared for our graduation, and many members of our classes will even be playing in GAA finals!
We were very lucky to go on a trip to Kilmainham Gaol. This was particularly exciting as we had learned so much about the 1916 Rising previously.
We went on a tour around the Gaol where we got to see the cells of people we had learned about, the famous staircase and the yard where the leaders of the rising were executed. It was really interesting to see what we had learned about come to life.
Here are some photos of Áine’s 6th Class on the tour
After the tour we got time to look around the museum. We saw an original copy of the proclamation and got to see belongings of people who took part in the rising all those year ago.
It was a great trip out for all!
