November was a very busy month in Jane’s 3rd Class. We celebrated Science Week as a whole school. We researched and studied various facts about our Famous scientist Thomas Edison. We learned that Thomas Edison created the very first lightbulb! We also got to complete various experiments throughout the week. Our favourites were the Skittles experiment and designing our own houses using marshmallows and spaghetti strands. We had so much fun!

We enjoyed learning new facts about the continent of Africa! We completed our own research projects and had great fun presenting our findings to the class. In class, we explored the work of Nelson Mandela and Desmond Tutu. We used the school iPads to create fantastic fact files on the life and work of Nelson Mandela. We were very proud of ourselves. We also completed a lovely art collage outling one of our favourite quotes from Nelson Mandela ‘ Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world’.

We have been working really hard on our Winter performance over the past number of weeks. We are really looking forward to performing our songs and poems to our family and friends on stage!
