Parents’ Courses

The Dyslexia Association of Ireland is organizing a one- day course in Dublin on Saturday April 27th for parents on dyslexia.

Topics covered will include:

  • What is Dyslexia?
  • Support Strategies – What Parents Can Do
  • Assistive Technology
  • Self-esteem

There will be a split session on specific supports at primary level and secondary level. The information days aim to:

  • Give parents an overview of dyslexia in the context of the Irish education system
  • Provide parents with the key information they need to act as advocates on behalf of their children
  • Equip parents with some practical strategies they can implement themselves to help their children 

The fee per parent is €60 for DAI members and €85 for non-members. Tea and coffee will be served mid-morning but lunch will not be provided. Pre-booking is essential.

Dyslexia Association of Ireland have launched a series of podcasts called Dys & Dat. The podcast features interviews with people who have dyslexia, or those who know a lot about it.
