On Monday the 23rd of April, three children attended the Eason’s Spelling Bee in St. Paul’s National school. There were thirty-three children from fifth and sixth classes all over Meath taking part. Ileri, Beatrice and Max attended the Spelling Bee after coming first, second and third in the school Spelling Bee. Ileri was the representative for Ashbourne Educate Together N.S. The hall at St. Paul’s was crowded with spellers and supporters. Ileri successfully spelt a number of challenging words; unfortunately he got knocked out on the word “windlestraw”. Ileri came in the top twelve overall. We are all looking forward to taking part in the Spelling Bee again next year.
